Sammy Tridico Memorial Scholarship

Sam was born on Good Friday, April 14, 2006, a “miracle baby” to his parents, Michael Todd and Judy (Bubash) Tridico.

Sam had a zest for life that was contagious and to know him was to love him. Everyone who came in contact with Sam felt the happiness that radiated from him, and he brought joy to anyone on the receiving end of his sparkling blue eyes and a sheepish grin.

In 2010, he was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia.  No matter what he encountered, Sam was always bright and cheerful. He was a student at St. Peter’s Montessori when he passed away on December 28, 2010.

Sam benefited from the extraordinary love, care, and personal attention offered by this wonderful program, as did his other siblings.

The Sammy Tridico Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to keep Sam’s memory alive and give other children the same bright start.

Since 2013, scholarships have been awarded to Montessori families through the St. Peter’s Tuition Assistance Program.

Each August, the Tridico family host a Pancake Breakfast or “SamCakes” as it’s affectionally called.  During his illness, Sammy also received 16 red cell and 26 platelet transfusions.  These transfusions helped give Sam more time with his family.  The family also sponsors several blood drives throughout the year, including a couple at St. Peter’s.
